Ohio State held their own last night and deserved the outcome. I was conflicted over this game. Being a Virginia Tech alumnus and fan, I despise Miami. But being an Ohio transient and disliking OSU as a school, I also wanted the Buckeyes to lose.
It was a fun game to watch – fast and physical. I was surprised at how well the OSU defense penetrated Miami’s offensive line and how off-balance they kept Dorsey. I was also surprised that they maintained their energy through to the end.
Miami definitely didn’t play their best, and Ohio’s defense had a miraculous night. A few bad calls tipped the balance either way, but OSU has the right to be proud.
Next year, Virginia Tech will win. Marcus Vick will be the highlight. I promise.
The Browns/Pittsburgh game tomorrow I’m less ambiguous about. I hope the Browns win just so I can make fun of the Pittsburgh fans at work. Personally, I’ll be watching Michael Vick with Atlanta.
I wonder what Ohio looked like during this game since I think every Ohioan and OSU fan was in Phoenix !! Everywhere you went there were OSU fans in T-shirts, coats, painted faces, etc. From downtown Phoenix, to every suburban restaurant I went in, to Sedona, to Montezumas Castle. The turnout here was unbelieveable. Felt like home. 🙂
