When Virginia, Walt, and Davee were here, we pulled an old, concrete step foundation out from in front of the side porch. The old aggregate (concrete) was really cool looking, so they decided to stand it upright as one side of the entry to the back garden.
Wally left his old, dilapidated boots behind, rather than carry them back on the plane. Teresa planted them with Gerber daisies and the gestalt is quite lovely!
Here’s a view of the side garden from the gateway. Thursday, a new Fringe Tree will occupy some of the space on the right.
