Beer Notes: Railbender Ale from Erie Brewing Company

My friend Sean and I exchange cases of micro-brew beers each Christmas. It’s great to have a buddy to share a bunch of different beers with. I’ve haven’t been too good at keeping track of all the ones I’ve tasted, so I am going to try to put a few notes on them as I try them this year. Yet another New Year’s resolution that has only a slight possibility of surviving past a few days!

The first new one is Railbender Ale from Erie Brewing Company. It’s a nicely flavored ale, a bit sweet on its finish. It has a syrupy feel on the tongue, almost like a barley-wine, but not that sort of flavor. It’s quite drinkable, but more of a sipping style. Slight bitter notes on the edges, but the sweet and syrupy is what comes across most. I’ll give it a C+ overall.
