Tomorrow, the upstairs floors will be refinished. When the contractor pulled up the cheap vinyl tile in the bathroom, they found pristine, never finished, fir wood floors. So, we decided to refinish the bedroom and hallways at the same time, leaving carpet only in the office and walk-in closet.
The previous owner had painted multiple times, letting things drip and splatter on the wood in the bedroom. We figured it was a good opportunity to do the same before they were refinished. The old bedroom color was an odd, ugly teal or aquamarine. We’ve now made it the same as the bathroom walls, Benjamin-Moore Saybrook Sage. I had to repair some drywall and box some unused electrical circuits as well, but the painting is all done.
