Let the Watering Begin

Summer has arrived! In the mid-80’s today with lots of sunshine. And we haven’t had much rain despite warnings of big thunderstorms over the last few weeks. So, we’ve been watering regularly to make sure the grass would come up. Now we’ll be watering like mad all summer so that our new trees, shrubs, AND grass survive to see another Spring. It’s all beautiful, so I’m not complaining. But it will be a job every evening.

    Hi Jim & Teresa!

I have been following your chronicles and George and I are so happy the two of you are enjoying life! Your house projects have been fun to read about and your gardens are BEAUTIFUL!

Based on your chronicles, it sounds like your position with Rockwell was the right move and going well … except, of course, for the American-made vehicle! 🙂 I have no doubt you are a rising star!! And for Teresa to connect with the position she wanted from the beginning of the adventure in Baltimore … how good does it get!

How exciting that Nanzwakazi is coming to visit … and that Sipho will remain for some time into July! It will be a wonderful visit for all involved … I’ll bet the girls wish they were able to make the visit as well.

Teresa, it just melted my heart to see the photo of you and Brady and Stephen … what a special Mother’s Day Gift for you. I hope Stephen is doing as well as possible in Iraq … I think often about him being there.

We now have a full house … Matthew and Ryan are both home with us! Matthew moved in last December and Ryan just arrived 2 weeks ago when the academic year ended at Miami University. Matthew is working on his MBA which he started in Januray… emphasis in finance … and is working for Equity Trust . His plan is to finish the degree in August 2007 and see what the world has to offer at that time. Meanwhile, he can save some $$, pay for the MBA, and be with family for a while.

Ryan is contemplating his next move … he would still like to live in Taiwan for a year but wanted to come home for maybe 9 months to a year to see what his options are, save some $$, and enjoy Mom’s cooking! It is good to have him home for a while … this is the first summer in 4 years that he has been home.

It is also a pleasure for this mom watching her sons get to know each other on a much different level. It has been 12 years since they have lived together so this time together is one of major discoveries about one another.

George is loving his work with Our Lady of the Wayside and I am loving my VISION 2015 project with LCCC … meeting a lot of new people from across Lorain County and from across Northeast Ohio with my involvement in the regional Vocies & Choices Project. My schedule for the past 6 months has been crazy with major evening commitments and weekend college-related activities … there will be a bit of “down time” in terms of evening commitments for the next 3 months … yeah!!

We spent 16 wonderful days on Captiva Island in FLorida at the end of April/first part of May … nothing but walking the beach, searching for shells, sun-bathing on the beach and cocktails while in the swimming pool … the weather was perfect, around 85 degrees with low humidity until the last 2 days … we came home to Ohio with gorgeous tans … only to have it cold and rainy for 10 days straight!!! Rest assured, some thigns haven’t changed around here!!

George and I would love to visit you this summer for a long weekend … do you have some dates available that we could match our calendars to in order to make this happen?

We miss you lots and lots!

    Catherine
