We had a whirlwind Thanksgiving weekend in Virginia. The weather was gorgeous, and I got to sit in the sun to watch Virginia Tech beat Virginia 17–0 (although it was a pretty dull game). Now they are off to the bowl formerly known as Peach against Georgia.
The food, as usual, was stupendous. Below, my pumpkin pie (from my mother’s secret recipe). At Teresa’s request, I jazzed it up this year and added some fall charm to the crust with the leaves. Also, even though we are ovo-lacto-pesco-vegetarians, we cook a mean turkey for the rest of the family. Brined overnight, it came out beautiful and moist this year.
