Bathroom Ready for Wallboard and Tile

Here is the tile pattern I designed after Teresa and I explored different options.  I dry-laid out an example to show it.

BathroomTilePattern

The floor is covered with 2” hex tiles in matt white with 2” bull-nose for the bench and shower edges.

The wall is glossy white subway tile with a 3” stripe of 1” iridescent blue glass accent tiles.  The shower will be tiled to 6’ with the rest of the walls tiled to 4’.  The accent stripe will run all the way around, bending at the shower and window areas. Bull-nose tiles cap the wall and cove tiles join the floor.

We’re really happy with the look of it!  I hope I bought enough… I was very conservative and will probably have lots left over.

The plumbers finished the rough-in today, including the shower liner.  I also picked up the last of the tile order.  The wallboard and tile contractor starts next week and estimates seven days to finish it.

After that, the plumber returns to install the toilet, sink, and shower fixtures we’ve purchased.  I install the light fixtures and mirror.  Then we temporarily use a shower curtain and tension rod until I find someplace to fabricate the invisible glass wall and door for the shower.  It’s coming together now!

How about pix of the finished product? Are you happy with it?
