Obituary: Mary Ann Jarrett

I just received the obituary that ran for my grandmother in The Bradford (Pa.) Era on Wednesday, September 7, 2005.  My dad wrote it and sent me a copy.

Mary Ann Jarrett

Mary Ann Jarrett of Chapel Ridge and 283 Bolivar Drive, also of Key Largo, Fla., died Sunday (Sept. 4, 2005) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born Feb. 16, 1917, in South Renovo, she was a daughter of Samuel and Nellie Leonard Weaver.  On Aug. 5, 1937, in Emporium, she married Harry M. Jarrett of Renovo.  He died on Dec. 22, 2004.

Mrs. Jarrett graduated from Renovo High School in 1934.

She was a homemaker who raised two sons while living in California, West Virginia, Connecticut and Pennsylvania during her husband’s military and business careers.  Mrs. Jarrett and her husband enjoyed traveling and maintained a winter home in Key Largo for 25 years.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert M. (Marie) Jarrett of Bradford and John P. (Linda) Jarrett of Pinehurst, N.C.; five grandsons, Paul J. Jarrett of Baltimore, Md., Michael R. Jarrett of Savannah, Ga., James H. (Teresa) Jarrett of Baltimore, Md., Charles J. (Sarah) Jarrett of Smyrna, Ga., and Richard H. (Cathy) Jarrett of Liverpool, N.Y.; a great-grandson, William S. Jarrett of Smyrna; and a brother, Richard Weaver of Chambersburg.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jarrett was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosella and Miriam; and two brothers, Drew and William.

Robert and Marie Jarrett will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., East Main Street.  Burial will be in North Bend Cemetery, North Bend.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Helen Nusbaum Memorial Fund at the Bradford Hospital Foundation, 20 School St., Bradford, Pa., 16701.
