Muffin Review: Tops Chocolate Chip

It is important to taste the finer things in life… and as was the case this morning, the not-so-finer things in life.  While the Tops chocolate chip muffin looked appealing, it did not deliver on taste.  As Jim said, it was very cakey.  I did not feel like I was eating a muffin, I felt as if I should have been eating around the wax drippings of a recently blown out candle atop a cheap birthday cake.  Kudos to Tops, though, for not neglecting to include nice crystals of sugar on the crown of the muffin.  That nice touch made the muffin somewhat more acceptable than one of, say, Entenmann’s.  Perhaps someday, the perfect replacement to the bliss of Coffee and Creations’ delectable delights will be found.  Too bad it wasn’t today.
