Muffin Review: Honey Girl Glazed Blueberry Scone

Is it a scone?  Or is it a muffin?  Or some inbred spawn of both?

Matt brought in these glazed scones this morning.  They are quite tasty.  The cake itself is not too sweet, and moister than a scone, but denser than a muffin.  Lots of blueberries, although they don’t come across with much flavor.  On top, a thick, crunchy sugar glaze.  Interesting, and good enough.  But no contender for the top billing.

Interesting.  I’ve never had a scone with a glaze over it.  Today’s selection of a blueberry scone was satisfying, but nothing to salivate over (like last week’s blueberry muffin from Cravings).  The sweet outer layer of glazed goodness was the most redeeming quality of this selection.  The interior was dry and flour-y.  I had to make sure I saved a bit with the glaze on it for my last bite so I would finish on a good note.  Overall, it was an new taste to enjoy, but nothing I’ll rush back to have again.
