More Garden Enhancements

We’ve continued to work on the garden over the last couple weeks.  This weekend, we got the front garden fine-graded and grass seed sown.  Here are a couple of shots from up on a ladder out front… finally I got some pictures that captured the beauty of what is emerging.

Two angles of the front garden in the evening sun.

And here is a picture of the rear garden, mostly a project for next year.  However, we’ve got the fine grading done and have nestled our blue bench among the Canadian Hemlocks and Kousa Dogwood.

We bought some large trees as well to continue the basic structure: a large Yellowwood to provide shade and screening in the back, a Cherokee Princess Dogwood to provide an anchor in the front, and a Fringe Tree for more texture and color on the side.  They’ll arrive this week, and we’ll place them this weekend.  Whew, are we tired!

Wow, it’s just like victory garden. It’s gonna be beautiful when it’s done.

We hope to get down to see it in person within the next month or so. Thanks for the lovely Mother’s Day bouquet: pink roses, gerber daisies, carnations, iris, baby’s breath and two kinds of posies we cannot identify.
